Forecast and observational data

Numerical forecasts, current conditions, hourly and daily data, air quality, pollen, and UV data are sourced from global weather data providers. We query these providers directly from our backend; we do not share any of your personal data with them beyond what is technically necessary to retrieve a forecast for a location.

Maps and radar

Map and radar tiles are loaded only after you actively open the map or radar (click-to-load). Consequently, your IP address is transmitted to these providers only when you request that view.

Official severe-weather warnings (CAP)

When an official meteorological or civil protection authority issues a severe-weather warning, we relay it from that authority’s public feed (using the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) or an equivalent official feed), point-matched to your location. The original warning, severity, and affected area are provided by the issuing authority; we may summarize and translate the free-form text into your language (see below).

Official warnings are currently integrated for these countries:

Outside these countries, the Service still provides forecast, radar, and observational data, but it does not yet relay official government severe-weather warnings. We are actively expanding this coverage; this table is the authoritative list of currently supported regions. Wherever you are, official warnings issued by your national authority and emergency services remain your primary source of information — please see the disclaimer in our Terms of Service.

AI translation of warning text

Free-form warning texts and AI assistant responses are processed by Google Gemini to summarize and translate them into your language. Only the text to be translated (and, for the assistant, your rounded location and prompt) is sent; no account identifiers are shared. The paid Gemini API does not use this data to train Google’s models. Please see our Privacy Policy and sub-processor register for details.
